Where can I collect my luggage?
Your luggage will be dispensed on a carousel in the customs arrival hall. You can obtain the carousel number from a CANN Officer or any information desk at YVR airport.
What if I move before my Permanent Resident (PR) card arrives or I do not know my mailing address?
You can ask a CBSA officer to provide you with an Address Change Notification Form. When you know your permanent address, complete and mail this form to Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) and CIC will mail your PR Card to that address.
What if I am late for my connecting flight?
You still need to complete your landing interview before you can go on to your final destination. Most airlines are aware of the landing procedure and will assist you to connect on to the next available flight to your destination.
Can I apply for a Social Insurance Number (SIN) number at the airport?
Every Tuesdays and Thursday Service Canada is working on YVR departure level Infront of counter 155. Other days you can apply online or by mail. If you are unable to apply online or by mail then you can visit nearby Service Canada Centre in your final destination city.
Where do I get my List of Goods to Follow stamped?
The CBSA officers do not stamp this document at the airport. You must call the CBSA at 1-800-461-9999 to obtain further information.
How do I communicate with a CBSA officer if I cannot speak English?
CBSA provides the following resources: Multilingual written information (i.e. customs declaration card) In-person interpretation (based on availability)
