Accreditation
Newcomers often have difficulty finding a job in Canada because their qualifications are not recognized by Canadian employers.
Foreign qualifications may need to be assessed in order for you to work in regulated professions. You may have to write an examination or work as a trainee to qualify. Please contact the regulatory body of your occupation to learn about the criteria you need to meet in order to work in your profession.
To work in non-regulated occupations, the employer decides whether or not your foreign qualifications will be recognized. The employer may ask for an assessment of your education and credentials, as well as an assessment of your work experience.
